New! Opening of a quartet & trio class

Auditions, Friday 27 September from 2pm

Following the opening of a conducting class led by Mathieu Herzog in January 2024, the Rachmaninoff Conservatoire will be opening a quartet and trio class led by Gabriel Le Magadure in autumn 2024.

The aim of this class is to learn and perfect the art of the string trio and quartet, with a view to developing a long-term career for the ensembles selected; to train and prepare students for national and international competitions, so that they can perform in the best possible conditions and thus contribute to the development of the young national scene.

This class, which is aimed at professional musicians or those in the process of becoming professionals, will host a total of 4 groups in its first year, from October 2024 to June 2025, who will be selected at an audition to be held in September.

Each ensemble will take part in two hours of lessons every fortnight.

Sets will be assessed in two ways:

Through cooperative continuous assessment group lessons organised at the end of each term, attended by all the ensembles in the class, to enable them to practice their programme in front of their classmates and create a spirit of understanding and mutual support among these young musicians.

-During a main examination at the end of the year (June), in the form of a concert open to the public, before a jury of professional musicians specialising in chamber music.

The audition to select the candidates will take place on Friday 27 at 2 pm in the Rachmaninoff Conservatoire concert hall.

Courses start in October
