In this recital, the pianist Alexander Karpeev explores the personal responses of ten composers from six European countries to the enchanting themes of winter and the celebration of Christmas. The programme concludes with a concert arrangement of Mikhail Pletnev from the much-loved ballet by Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker.
